HGSA certified practising Genetic Counsellors have an ethical and professional obligation to their clients, to themselves and to their clinical team members to participate in the Human Genetics Society of Australasia (HGSA) maintenance of professional standards (MOPS) program. The program is administered by the HGSA through its Board of Censors (BOC) for Genetic Counselling.
The HGSA Genetic Counselling MOPS program is currently under Board of Censors’ review as part of the Australasian Genetic Counsellor Training and Certification standards revision. The current MOPS requirements can be found on pages 36-38 of the current Genetic Counselling Certification Guidelines
