This year, the HGSA ASGC group Genetic Counsellors in Research (GCR) Connect are hosting their end of year showcase on GCAD at 2-3:30pm AEDT. 

 

A stellar lineup highlighting the incredible research being led by genetic counsellors across Australasia. 

  • Dr Fiona Lynch: “I want to know now, but I don’t know what I want in 5 years’ time” — Australian parents’ perspectives on the use of genomic newborn screening data as a lifetime resource.
  • Ella Sanders: “Take it with a grain of salt” — Attitudes and experiences of genetic healthcare professionals towards online genetic support groups.
  • Emily De Bortoli: Mainstreaming genomic testing for paediatric inborn errors of immunity.

GCAD Bake Off

The GCAD Bake Off is back and yummier than ever, with the stakes higher! 

ASGC members are invited to swap their Master of GC for Master Chef in the kitchen, to create genetic counselling themed treats. Photos for Bake Off entries can be shared on your social media, using the hashtag #GCAD2025 or emailed to GCAD chair Giorgina Maxwell ([email protected]). Entries must be submitted by 5pm AWST (aka “Perth time”) on 13th November 2025.
