HGSA have been asked for their input in relation to the review of the following NPAAC Standards:

• Requirements for supervision in the clinical governance of medical pathology laboratories (Sixth Edition 2021)
• Guidelines for Approved Pathology Collection Centres (Requirements for Medical Pathology Specimen Collection) (Third Edition 2013)

At the end of 2022, the Commission in collaboration with NPAAC commenced the review of several Tier 2 and Tier 3 standards relating to the governance of medical pathology laboratories. These two standards have been added to this governance standards review to ensure the approach, actions and supporting resources are aligned.

We are seeking feedback on the current edition of each standard as part of this initial feedback process.

HGSA members are invited to complete any or all of the surveys below on the standards under review. HGSA will be making an organisational response separate to individual member responses. The surveys will be available until 30 June 2023.
