ONLINE REGISTRATION NOW AVAILBALE. Register now for this landmark event featuring HGSA Oration by Dr James Pitt and Sutherland Lecture by Professor Zornitza Stark.

Registration is now open for the XXIIIrd International Congress of Genetics which will be held in Melbourne Australia from 16-21 July 2023.

Occurring just once every five years, the International Congress of Genetics is a landmark event as it brings together the best geneticists in the world to share their expertise and knowledge at this truly global forum.  Over the six days, the Congress will offer a series of plenary sessions, symposia, workshops and poster presentations. The theme: Genetics and Genomics - Linking Life and Society highlights the breadth of the Congress in covering fundamental discoveries in our science and applications to health, agriculture and the environment.
Plenary Addresses: There will be nine plenary addresses each presented by a global leader in their respective field. One of these will be given by the 2023 recipient(s) of the prestigious Gruber Prize in Genetics. Beyond the extraordinary honour, this comes with an award of $500,000 (USD).

Symposia: The Congress will have six broad themes covering the breadth of Genetics and Genomics in humans, animals, plants, fungi and microbes and include:
1. Genetics and Human Health
2. Genomics and Genomic Technologies
3. Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Genetics
4. Agriculture and Plant Genetics
5. Genetics and the Environment
6. Evolutionary Genetics
Each of the broad themes will have nine symposia that will cover specific aspects of the theme.  A list of the symposia topics can be found here.  There will be two invited presentations in each symposium with up to four other speakers selected based on abstract submissions. Visit the website to view the current list of invited speakers.

Poster Presentations are an integral element Congress program and poster sessions will be linked to the themes and symposia.  There will be a generous amount of time set aside for poster presentation and viewing with the posters displayed in the Exhibition space where delegates will gather for morning and afternoon teas and lunch.

Now is the time to secure your place at the Congress and take advantage of early bird savings.  HGSA members can access discounted registration using the promotional code HGSA in the relevant section of the registration form.
